A 26-year old man is facing over 120 charges as a result of an investigation into stolen cheques in Oshawa. The suspect was arrested without incident by the Tactical Services Unit and a K-9 team at a residence on Elmgrove Av. on Wednesday. Police allege that the cheques were obtained over a ten month period, with signatures forged and given to people in the network or to unsuspecting people to deposit, with the accused taking a cut of the cash withdrawn. Some of the rightful owners of the cheques were not aware they had been stolen until they saw the activity on their bank statements.
